For the fifth (or more!?) time, we had an incredible stay at the Thompson Zihuatanejo. We go every Christmas holidays, usually with my parents, but this time was special because we also had our 6-month-old baby. We wanted a relaxing yet luxurious escape, and this resort, as usual, delivered in every way possible. From the beautiful beachfront villa to the impeccable service, our experience was nothing short of perfect. Location: The resort is set in a stunning and quiet cove, with views of the clear waters of the Pacific. It was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of Zihuatanejo. The beach is right in front of the room, and we loved being able to hear the sound of the waves as we relaxed. It was also incredibly peaceful—perfect for a family vacation with young children. Accommodations: We stayed in a beachfront villa, which was absolutely incredible. The villa was spacious, beautifully designed, and had all the amenities we could need, including a private plunge pool and large outdoor terrace. The room was equipped with a real wooden crib for our baby, with baby sheets, duvet and all, and the resort even offered a high chair and baby amenities, which made the stay so much easier. The villa was incredibly comfortable, and we were able to enjoy both the serene beauty of the beach and the comfort of the villa with our family. Service: The service at Thompson Zihuatanejo was impeccable. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was seamless, especially considering we were traveling with a baby. From the front desk to the beach attendants, everyone made us feel at home and genuinely cared about making our experience special. We especially appreciated the thoughtfulness of the team when it came to helping with our baby’s needs—they were always quick to offer assistance with a smile. Dining: Dining at Thompson Zihuatanejo was an absolute treat. We enjoyed every meal we had! The resort offers multiple restaurants, each with a unique atmosphere and delicious food. We had several family meals at the beachfront restaurant, where the food was fresh and flavorful. Breakfast was also fantastic, with a wide variety of options both mexican and classics. The view from the restaurants, especially during sunset, was breathtaking. We also really enjoy the nearby restaurants, especially Il Mare and Espuma. Activities & Relaxation: Although we were mostly focused on relaxing and enjoying time with our family, the resort offers plenty of activities for those who want to be more active. We spent our days lounging by the beach (next to the pool), and it was always peaceful and comfortable. For those who want to explore, there are some great opportunities for fishing, kayaking, and even a trip into Zihuatanejo town, though we were content with just soaking in the resort’s beauty. Family-Friendly Vibe: Thompson Zihuatanejo is the ideal resort for families looking for a luxurious, yet relaxed experience. The staff made traveling with a baby feel effortless. We felt completely at ease throughout our stay, which is something we deeply appreciated when traveling with a little one. Our time at Thompson Zihuatanejo is always exceptional. It’s rare to find a resort that offers the perfect mix of luxury, comfort, and family-friendly service, but this place absolutely does. Whether you’re traveling with young children, as a couple, or with friends & family, Thompson Zihuatanejo is the perfect place to relax and create lasting memories.
